Switching to wooden or metal utensils eliminates any chance of toxins leaching into your food. And they just look better on the countertop than old plastic ones.
Made of oiled olive wood.
Olive wood:
Olive wood not only features a particularly attractive grain, it is also extremely hard due to its slow growth. The high oil content makes it water-repellent, non-slip and supple.
Care:
Wash by hand with warm water, soap and a soft sponge. Dry them before putting them away and every now and then run them down with regular olive oil or sunflower oil to preserve the beauty of the wood.
End of Life:
Compost.
